I wonder If there's actually someone who can create great artworks without a fundamental ingredient: Patience. And, I'm not only talking about complex and detailed artworks, but also minimalistic concepts like these created by Bianca Chang, eye candy examples of tradicional Typography in a fresh new way.

Amazing Paper-Artwork by Karen Bit Vejles

Karen Bit Vejles form of expression, psaligraphy, literally means the art of drawing or painting with scissors. Her magical cuttings in the travelling exhibition Scissors for a Brush, are rooted in a tradition that has known a long journey through history. But she has created a personal style and technique that are entirely her own.

For more than 35 years she has been absorbed, fascinated, and deeply committed to this art form that developed from small, simple snowflakes to unusually large and highly complex image cuttings. She is one of very few in Europe who can cut at such an advanced technical and artistic level. There is a great degree of humour in Karen Bit Vejle’s world of imagery; humour and the ability to identify joy in small things. Just as often, though, she confronts deep seriousness and themes intended to invoke involvement and reflection. Her works are captivating surprise packages. By meeting Karen Bit Vejle’s images of air and paper we can find ourselves both surprised and inspired!

Psaligraphy - the art of papercutting - requires time. Both when it comes to creation and experience of the work of art. Contrary to almost everything else in the world today, psaligraphy is a slow art. It takes time to master, plan and perform it.

French designer/illustrator Chloe Fleury, now based in San Francisco, California, creates wonderful things with paper that instantly caught my attention. I especially love her San Francisco posters which represent her favorite neighborhoods and what they mean to her. Makes me want to go back to San Fran sometime soon.

What I really enjoy is creating little worlds, fantastical worlds. Envisioning them, building them, and eventually bringing them to life through stop motion animation. I think it’s magical.

Astonishing Paper Illustration by Yulia Brodskaya

Yulia Brodskaya is an artist and illustrator born in 1983 in Moscow - Russia. She is very recognized for her astonishing, elegant and detailed paper illustrations. Currently based in the UK, where she went to continue her education in art at the University of Hertfordshire with a Master of Art in Graphics Communication degree in 2006. After getting her degree, Yulia continued to experiment and explore ways of bringing together all the things she likes most: typography, paper, and highly detailed hand-made craft objects. She has swiftly earned an international reputation for her innovative paper illustrations and continues to create beautifully detailed paper designs for clients all around the world.

25+ Super Useful Paper Textures

After working a while on a project that I need some textures, I remembered how important it is to have good resourcers at hand. I went looking for some paper textures, and it took me some time, so I thought it would be a good idea to make a selection of the best I found.

It's amazing, but some of the greatest textures sites I know don't have paper textures, so I ended up going to DeviantART as usual... and geez, I wonder if there's something I can't actually find there... what a great resource! So here are the texture I found, and I really hope you enjoy them. Don't forget to check out DeviantART for more (but really, these are the best in my opinion). Cheers! ;)
