I've been writing tutorials inspired by skateboard deck designs for a few weeks and today it's not going to be different. I'm very addicted to that, I love the ideas some of the designers have and for this tutorial I will recreate a really nice effect with lines forming a star. However I will go a little bit further and I will transform it in a light effect and add a nice pattern overlay. Everything using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
The wallpaper of this week is an image created by Bastien Allard, a graphic designer from Montbeliard, France. Bastien has some really cool works on his portfolio and sent this very nice black and white composition called Fancy Work.

The book suggestion of this week is about branding and it's a recommendation from one of our favorite graphic designers out there, Roger Oddone. The book is called Designing Brand Identity: An Essential Guide for the Whole Branding Team and it covers everything you need to know about branding, from its definition to how come up with the most efficient strategy.
